Does anyone know if being in Mensa can in anyway improve your chances at getting into USNA.

List it under your EC's. Half the Brigade would qualify + they're varsity athletes and earned their gold award/eagle scout ! :)

it can't hurt- so do list- along with your other ECA's! If you can demonstrate leadership, all the better!

Best of luck!

Are you kidding? :confused:

I've been to MENSA conventions (done some consulting with them ... I'm not smart enuff to be mustered in to that corp) and they are collectively among the strangest group on the planet. I've never laughed so hard in my life. Dancin Dan was among my faves. Never did figure out what half of their affinity groups were about. A bizarre and fascinating bunch, for sure. Lots of Einstein lookalikes.

So ... will it help? Maybe? Or maybe not? :eek: Perhaps focus on those things that have stretched, grown you.

But again, who knows who knows what ... among those sitting on the Admissions Board.

But I'll bet one thing ... with all respect to 09mom ... half the Brigade would NOT qualify for MENSA. At least in their behavior, even if they're IQ-capable.

Whistle Pig is correct about who would or would not qualify for Mensa. They used to allow SAT scores, but stopped doing that back in 1994 as it no longer correlated to IQ, which is their single qualifying requirement for admission. WP is also correct about the collective group. Strange birds enamored with their plumage, IMO.

Probably would help. You would be suprised how much it could help.

On another note, I wouldn't be suprised if HALF the brigade DID qualify for MENSA.

There is truth in all ^^^^these posts! Let's not forget the correlation between brilliance and insanity! ;)

REALLY? :eek: :confused::cool:
