Mention Community College on Resume?

Hey guys,

I am applying for jobs, and have a doubt about my resume. I did the first two years at a community college, and then transferred to Bentley University, in MA. my GPA at CC was 3.8, and at Bentley 3.65. Career Office says I should not mention CC, but I am not sure about it because if they ask for transcripts they will see I transferred 53 credit hours from CC.

What would your advise concerning this be?

Thanks!

I want to hear about this too; last summer I took classes at community college which limited my job search and this summer I’m planning to as well.

Should I mention that I was attending community college over the summer so they aren’t wondering why I was potentially slacking off over the summer or would they think I’m trying to take the easy way out by taking some courses at community college.

These courses are basic histories, and governments, and one physics course.

Major: Petroleum Engineering

anyone, please?

You don’t need to list it on your resume, unless you got an Associates Degree, then you’d probably want to mention it just to make yourself look better.

The school that awarded you your degree will also list the credits you transferred in, but they probably will not have a GPA, just classes and credits.

On a resume you typically only list colleges that you received some sort of degree/certification from, unless you maybe haven’t finished yet or the courses you took at a separate institution are relevant to the job you are applying for.

Some people receive credits form 4 or 5 different schools before they actually graduate - no need to list them all.

Remember, there is a big difference between lying about your resume and just providing relevant information.
