So as of today I got a second citizenship (woot! Ah, the bureaucracy it took). I plan to send a letter of “enthusiasm” to Yale at some point after January 15th to update what I’ve done. Will it be helpful to mention this? I know it’s not exactly something I’ve “done” like being published, but it does represent a significant part of my culture. Mind that this would be a Greek citizenship and I don’t think Yale is lacking on that quota. Anyone have any info? Could this potentially hurt me if mentioned?

Congratulations! I strongly doubt your second citizenship will have any effect on your application, but you could certainly mention it and provide an explanation as to why it means so much to you.
