Mentioning past drug use and overcoming it; harm my chances?

So I am a pretty creative person to say the least. I am capable of writing an essay that is clever and what not, but I have such an interesting story to tell that I feel like I would be selling myself short...

Basically Ive ovrcome alot of struggles, and I am well out of my hole, and I'd like to write about it from the most positive light possible..

Is it a good idea, even if it's in a positive light?

Thanks!!!

If you can somehow show that you understand what led you to become feeble minded enough to make a decision like that and that you learned and have taken measurements to prevent a relapse. Unless you have a record, I’d leave that in the past. If you have a record, you should write a damn good essay to explain that.

Also: Wrong section. Sorry.
