If I mentioned someone being suicidal, such as a family member, and didn't get help, what would happen?

This someone is not suicidal anymore, but it's really important that I mention it, since it is one of the factors of my progress and affected me greatly.

Do you think the college would interfere, because I really don't want them to.

in ur essay? if this is where u will mention it. I totally assume they wouldn't-it wouldnt be their place to. I cant imagin having a college addcom call ur house to make sure things are ok. Its alright. I would go ahead and do it. goodluck

It's in an essay, but not THE essay. It's an additional info type of essay.

i dont know where u mean.

o like here are things u should take into consideration when reading my app? like my brother went to jail soph year, for example? like thats why my second semester grades were low?

i didn't mention that my mom has cancer(found out mid-end of eleventh (March 05) under the category of "anything that affected..." because i thought that it would be overkill since i figured that my guidance counsler would mention it...but now thinking back on it..i maybe should have said something about it...

Well, it's actually a chain of effects. My grandfather/grandmother/cousin/friend all passed away from difference causes very very recently, which made a love oned suicidal/depressed, which in turn led to a family falling apart, which made my environment very despondent/grief-ridden/angry, which made me take up more responsibilities, and of course, all this affected me.

It would be fine to mention it. In this type of essay, make sure you are explaining and not making excuses, and that you explain how you learned from it.
