Meredith Broussard

has anyone ever heard anything about her? i was going to take "everyday journalism" with her, but then i saw her pcr ratings, which are pretty bad...

is she really that bad?

if so, she should consider going back to harvard

no one took fear factors???

it doesn’t matter- the problem is that she’s rated like a 1.0 as an instructor but like 2.0 difficulty, which is good. what do i do???

i’d ditch and go for someone better, personally

thanks for yr post. the only thing is 2.0 difficulty is pretty good, isn’t it? the teacher stinks- i think it’s cuz she’s really involved in her own career and doesn’t have time to teach, but if a 2.0 is really easy, wouldn’t i be stupid 2 drop it?

nychica, I’d probably go with tenebrousfire’s advice. At my high school I would have up to 14 or so different teachers in a year because we changed every term, and what I’ve found is that whatever the course is, if the teacher is awful, the course is miserable and you don’t want to go and you dread it, regardless of ‘difficulty.’ of course you could love broussard, but if it were me I’d definitely go with a more difficult class that has a really high rated professor.

thanks for the advice. i think in hs, when u have a bad teacher, he/she is usually awful b/c he/she is uninformed or grumpy. in this case, it just seems like she doesn’t have time, but if the course is easy, who needs her?

idk if this makes sense at all though.

i was thinking that i could go for the 1st 2 days of class and then see if i like it or want to drop it. the only thing is, since it’s a writing seminar, are the 1st 2 days of class dedicated to diagnostics??

thanks again

IMO, difficulty of 2 is the max you should take for a writing seminar. They are easy courses. If she has multiple semesters with bad ratings, you can find someone better.

well my writing sem has a difficulty of 2.5 …but the prof rating is 3.63 and the class rating is 3.25…so hopefully I’ll be fine haha.

which writing seminar r u in?

Styles of Atheism. not one of my first choices but it popped up this morning and looks pretty interesting with good ratings, so I think I’m going to stick with it.

yeah i’m done w/ writing seminars. this lady has a 1 for her performance. who am i kidding?

i’ll take a writing seminar next yr once the course reviews will be indicative of the research paper component being added to the courses
