<p>The DoL (and NYS Attorney General) have been cracking down on a variety of labor law abuses. Current investigations are also targeting the classification of employees as “independent contractors”. The bottom line is that abuses of labor laws also costs the government a huge loss of tax revenue! It may be more difficult for students to find internships in the corporate world but it really isn’t a matter of enacting new regulations…many companies have been complying all along and now it sounds as if all will have to!</p>
