So i finally got my new email address for the school I am transferring to and I wanted to merge my old facebook account to this one, but I don't want to be at all affiliated with my old account at all, I just wanted all my friends to transfer over. What i did was i opened up a whole new facebook account for my new school, logged back into the old account, and merged from that one. I have a feeling I was supposed to have been logged into the new account and then should have merged the old one. Since the changes don't take to the account immediately, i'm not sure what the end result of this will be. Does anyone have experience with this?

thanks.

I merged the two... then took off the other college as a network... it should workt hat way

don't even merge it. just switch it.

yeah thats what i ended up doing.gracias.

If you merge them, do you have to go through the process of adding your friends again or does that automatically transfer over?

I tried to put in my school email account and it don't seem to go through....any suggestions?

I justmergedmy accounts last week and it worked out fine. I merged them from my new account though because that becomes the primary account so I think you did it the wrong way. You should e-mail them and ask if they can fix it. It will transfer over all your friends and photos and your wall but you have to redo the general profile. It's quick though, I just copied and pasted mine. Good luck!

if i lose my old school email account before i get my new one... will i lose my facebook account??
