is it impossible to get ANY scholarship money at all after the december 1st deadline? the thing is, I'm taking the november SAT IIs (along with october SAT I), and the scores aren't out until november 28th (AND I need to give my scores to my teachers for recs...), and the score reports take THREE WEEKS to get to the school, sooo...

:( how will THAT work out? will a 3.7weighted GPA + 2200 SAT garner any substantial merit aid? (if it's strictly academic-based?) I have an extensive art portfolio and recs + awards for that, but I'm not really music/sport orientated, nor am I related to alumnus...

I would call the admissions office and ask them. It is possible that if you have all of your pieces in accept for scores, that they will be fine with that. As for the recs, ask your teachers if they are willing to write them without the scores. They really shouldn't need that piece of information to write a letter for you. Also, UR doesn't required SAT IIs for admission.

As far as your chances for merit, your SAT will be fine but your grades might be a tad low. My understanding is that most students who have SATs in the 2100 range or above get $10,000 / year. However, I don't know what GPA is needed to go with that score to qualify for the merit award.

Oh, lovely! No SAT IIs is good :) But they will still show up on my SAT score report, and I have PREVIOUS SAT II scores that aren't so good - will they look at those at all? (I mean, it's staring them right in the face. They can't just ignore it, lol)

Thanks, shennie - your post was very helpful :)

They say that will consider SAT IIs if submitted. You will be taking them again and they will see both sets of scores. I don't know if they play a very important part in the whole process.

I believe the Rush Rhees and other annual $10K scholarships, while not pegged to inflation, have increased in value to 11 or 12K. Best to call UofR for details as this info from their website may be old:
