I just got accepted for Fall 2013 and from the scholarship estimator I qualify for deans/provost scholarship. is it hard to get these scholarships? I have a 3.5 UW 4.18 W gpa and 1230 CR + M. I’m not really sure about my chances with getting merit aid from ASU.

Anyone have experience with merit aid? Any feedback will be appreciated!
Thanks

Your merit aid letter will come within a few weeks of your admission letter-- you won’t have to wait for ASU’s final financial aid offer to see what the scholarship is.

so I never got a scholarship letter…and I thought my stats where on par (if not better) than the average ASU student. Financial Aid was posted today and I got like 0 scholarship. I’m so upset since I got good merit aid from other colleges:/

The ASU scholarship site is not very informative and difficult to navigate. You should call them to ask about the requirements for various scholarships and what you are eligible for. One consideration is they calculate your GPA using just what they consider to be your core classes, which tends to pull the GPA down once gym, art, etc are eliminated. You should ask about that when you call to see what your GPA is for ASU.

I called, and they said I qualified and said I should have gotten a letter. Now I have to email my counselor and ask about this. If it weren’t for this (and UW Seattle decision), I would be paying my deposit now. Anyway thanks guys!

Good for you. I know I hate to call, always prefer to e-mail if I can. The threshold for me to pick up the phone is pretty high, have to force myself. Sounds like it was worth it for you. Good luck.
