My d really likes Drew, but I am wondering about the merit aid there. If any of you have recieved merit aid (not based on financial need) within the last few years, can you let me know the amount and your stats? Thanks!

My D just recently got admitted and received $15,000 a year in merit. She has 3.7 gpa weighted and 1820/2400 sat. From what I heard their merit aid is very generous with most applicants. I don’t think D is going to attend though, she has gotten in to a couple of other schools she would rather attend. Still waiting on a few more also.

My son got about 21,000 back in 2006 and it was one of the most generous of his schools. He was about 3.75 and his SAT’s weren’t over 1300 (out of 1600) but he had strong recs, AP’s and was male, a minority at the time.

That’s great, thanks! Westie, did your d get similar merit at any other schools?

She got aid at a couple of other schools so far (again still waiting), but Drew is the largest award thus far. UVM offered 10,000/yr and Siena 10,400/yr. The only other school she has been admitted to has not offered anything and of course this is the one she wants to attend out of the four :).

My d got 20K merit at Drew. Still waiting for the rest of her need based aid package though…Her stats are very high for Drew.

Drew was about average in terms of merit aid offered to my daughter, however she applied mainly to schools known for generous merit aid.

Drew offered $22K/year. Stats: 4.0 GPA, 2320 SAT, NMF, lots of ECs and awards

The net price calculator at Drew now estimates merit aid (and of course need-based aid as well). The merit aid estimate seems to be based on GPA.
