Hi!
I have a 2240 sat (1 try) -790 writing, 760 reading, 690 math (1450 old scale)
And a 33 ACT composite
I do a lot of ECs, especially volunteering and dance and music.. I also have taken college classes/etc and plan to volunteer abroad this summer
What schools could I get really good merit aid at?? (At least 15k competitive, but more is definitely preferred..) It still has to be a well-respected school...

How much aid is meaningless, unless you also tell us what you want your cost to be as well. There are a number of “well-respected” institutions where those scores and a good GPA would get you free tuition and fees, and a couple more where they would get you a true free ride. There also are places where $15k in merit would only get your cost down to $45k.

Pop over to the Fin Aid forum, and scroll down for some good ideas.

Also would be helpful to know what your intended major is, what type of school/campus you prefer, any geographic preferences.

I realize now I forgot to mention: my GPA is a 3.98/3.99 UW, and my school doesn’t weight so IDK about that, but I will have 8 (maybe 9) AP classes by the time I graduate.
Also, I meant to mention that the cost would need to be 30K, including room and board. My family makes about 100k currently, but will probably make 140 within a few months/weeks (my mom’s getting a higher-paying job), so financial aid wouldn’t help us much anymore
Geographic location isn’t super important to me (I could live with anything). I’d prefer something relatively close to a city, but I’m not discounting things just because they’re more rural.
My intended major is very tentatively International Relations/Poli Sci, but this could also change…
Thanks

Dickinson is strong in IR/Poli Sci, and gives pretty good merit aid. My D had a great experience there. She had an interesting study abroad experience (they are very flexible and accomodating if you want something unusual). She also did their DC semester in Washington and interned at the Dept of State, and had a summer internship with a Senator. There are sometimes internships with the Army War college (in the same town as the college). She graduated with excellent grades and strong recommendations from her professors, so is well positioned for grad or law school if she wants to go. And got a good paying job in DC with benefits upon graduation.

Cool! That sound great
