I'm not trying to act arrogant or anything, but I really was expecting 20k in aid from case. It's just important for me because I need any money I can get as anything I don't get in grants/scholarships I have to get loans for.

anyways I got a 2330 sat/4.0 uw gpa/4.6 w gpa.
800/800 sat subject tests

I have several ec's which I am very passionate about

My rec's were great, and my commonapp essay was good

I'm also from pa

I thought Case was very stats-driven in giving out aid so I was really expecting 20k.
Do you think it is possible they could have not received my second sat score (the 2330) and only received my first (a 2180). That already happened to one other school I was applying to. I'm just wondering if I should ask case about this situation because frankly 2500 * 4 years is 10,000 possible dollars I might be missing out on.

Well, you can make a visit and play the poker game. Try to get them to give you more money by playing the “I really want to go here, but can’t afford it” card. That’s what I’m planning to do. But, how do you know how much money they’re giving you already? They’re sending the letters out tomorrow. Haha.

In my acceptance email it said i qualified for a university scholarship x4 years (17,500). 17,500 is a lot of money, but at a school where it costs 35,000 having an extra 2,500 per year that I don’t need in loans is a lot of money

I have slightly lower stats and got the same amount of merit aid. My friend who has 2390 and some nice ECs but a 3.2 gpa got the same amount too…
From what I’ve been reading it seems like those who applied earlier received more aid (20k vs 17.5k).

Yes, Michelson-Morley award of $17,500 as well - I believe there was a post recently that this award was for 20k? Also no mentioning of any further financial aid consideration, only a postage paid envelope with $500 deposit checkbox if you accept. Does it mean this is it as far as financial side of things? Where did last years $27,500 award go?
At this point, it is unlikely son will attend for 30k+ a year, but we will have to see all other packages to decide on this.

Case may give a merit scholarship in with their acceptance. When your financial award is complete you may get a grant, aid, etc. My son got an additional $4.8Kyear in his award over his Trustee award he received in December.

You need to get a userID. The system assigns you a user id then you need to enter it along with a pin. The pin is your ss#. It took us awhile to figure that out last night but it finally worked and we were so happy about the grant!

So I got my ID and Pin. Seems like they gave me an email address but whatever… I logged in to my briefcase. And then it had 4 steps that it said I haven’t completed yet. The first step is a form I have to fill out online (not FAFSA but another thing from Case). Is this right? I feel like I should have waited until they sent me an email or something.
