Anyone hear about merit aid with their acceptances? My son applied RD and is getting anxious about his chances. If you are willing to give your stats that would be great.

S applied RD, although he got notified last week of his acceptance. No word yet on merit aide.

D is a freshman, last year those that were being considered for merit aid were invited out for an interview in Feb.

A friend who works in admissions said they aren't doing the interviews this year, but I do not know that for certain. I think they have changed the program because they did not require a separate scholarship application this year.

deb1225, both my children were accepted in past years with partial merit aid for which there was no advance notice; the information came in the acceptance letter and was offered very graciously. Both had circa 1500 SATS and good ECs; one was top 10 percent of HS class and the other was top 15 percent. They did not end up at Kenyon, but it has always seemed like a wonderful place.

Thanks so much! My son really wants to go to Kenyon but has gotten some nice merit aid offers from other schools. He has similar stats to your kids. He has written admissions sev'l times confirming his interest and updating his application but got no response. Not sure if that's a bad sign? Why did your kids not choose Kenyon?

They chose schools similar to Kenyon, in one case closer to home and somewhat more selective and in the other a little farther from home but with a couple of offerings that she specifically wanted.

So is it a bad thing that some of us haven't received that acceptance letter yet? If your son got his last week, and some of us haven't heard, are rejections last to go out?

It's not time to worry yet. My D received her acceptance about March 25 a couple of years ago; my son got his a few weeks earlier than that, I would say in early March, but that was nearly ten years ago and the schedule may well have changed.

I just called Kenyon. They told me that they will be mailing the decisions this Friday, March 24.
