Am I correct in understanding the Bowdoin doesn’t offer a penny of merit aid? If the net cost calculator says we’d get no financial aid, we will then be paying full boat, period?
The only exceptions I’m aware of: National Merit Scholars who are not eligible for need-based aid receive a renewable $1,000 recognition award. In addition, continuing students with the top 20% GPAs in each class are awarded Sarah and James Bowdoin scholarships. I don’t know how much those scholarships are for.
Bowdoin provides no merit aid. People are recognized as Sarah and James Bowdoin scholars when their GPAs are in the top 20% of their class for a given academic year. It does not come with any monetary perks though.
Searching and applying for scholarships in your community, region, and country is a must. The Bowdoin College Office of Student Aid sometimes passes along information about off-campus scholarship opportunities, too.
