How often is merit aid offered to students? Is it given to a lot of students if they fit a certain criteria or is it only like 10 students? the princetonreview website says that BU offers a lot of merit aid is different areas, but I didn’t know if a lot was given out…help would be great

There are full tuition scholarships, such as the 20 Trustee scholarships that are awarded to "superstars," but BU also awards tons of smaller scholarships to "regular kids." From our local high school alone at least three kids a year get SOME merit scholarship money from BU. However, most receive the Founder's Grant ($5,000 per year) or the Dean's Scholarship ($10,000 per year), and every once in a while the University Scholarship (1/2 tuition which my kiddo got! woohoo!). No Trustees from our high school... yet!

So I'd say Princetonreview website is right, a lot of kids get a lot of merit money from BU, more than is typical from other well known private universities.
