With a 1080 SAT and a 4.2 GPA will i get any merit aid? I got into Newhouse.

Sorry, but not likely! My daughter had higher SAT's and her GPA (I don't know the conversion) was a 93.67 unweighted w/all honors or some AP classes, and she did not get a penny! Zilch, Zip, Nada!

It seemed like most of the Newhouse kids did not get anything last year either for merit...

Do you think that is just for newhouse? Did your daughter go to newhouse or A and S?

My daughter goes to Newhouse, and on Facebook it seemed like none of the Newhouse kids were getting merit but the A&S kids were getting tons of money.

newhouse is such a draw that unfortunately they don't have to give as much money as a&s...you pay for the top-notch education.
but the founders' scholarship definitely went to a few newhouse kids this year, and that's a decent chunk off tuition, but yes, the biggest ones and the largest number of them definitely fall in a&s.

Kyle, did you apply ED?

Yeah I applied ED

Thanks, I thought so.

My S., who graduated from Engineering school May '07 had 16K/yr. merit. If memory serves correctly, his stats were about 93 avg. and 1350 SATS. A h.s. grad i know from June 2006 (with similar numbers) got 15k (Arts and Sciences).
