D is a junior interested in Earlham. Just got her SAT scores back. 1300 on m/cr. Didn't prepmuch and will retake in spring. Has about a 3.9 weighted gpa. Trying to get a handle on how much meritaid she might get at earlham. We make too much for needs based aid, but will need significant merit aid to afford private. What kind of merit aidcould she expect ? Feel free to pm me.

According to college data .com and Earlham’s common data set, about 20% of Earlham students receive merit aid, averaging $8582. With a 1300 m/cr SAT, she would be in the top half, probably around top 30% of Earlham enrollees. I would guess that she might get some merit aid, but probably $5000 or less.

holliesue, I already told you my scores (and my gpa is around your daughter’s) and I got $10,500. I think the lowest they give is $7000 and I’m pretty sure your daughter would atleast get some merit (at least 7000). they also give good financial aid- my preliminary package is very good

My D was offered a $9,000 merit scholarship. Her SATs and GPA were very similar to your daughter’s.

hollisue – Don’t make assumptions about not getting need-based aid. Go ahead and file FAFSA when the times comes. At the least, it may make your D eligible for federal loans, and work study dollars.
