Woops, I accidentally previously posted this in the wrong forum. This is where I indended for it to be.

As we wait for the cutoff list for NMSF, and my kiddo is 2 points below last year's cutoff, I am wondering if there are any schools that will provide merit aide based on commended status. I know that there is no NM commended scholarship. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any schools that use this status in conjunction with other factors to award merit aid.

Yes, NM commended students can stand out at the schools that aren't top of the line. That may help students qualify for merit aid. Some colleges even given small scholarships for commended students. I posted a list a while ago that you might be able to find by using Google or the search function here. Google also will help you find schools that give scholarships for commended students.

Northstarmom: Thanks for your reply. I tried doing the search in several ways but I didn't find it. Was this a thread dedicated to this topic or was it a comment in another thread? Do you know which forum it would be in? Please me know if you have any clues to narrow this search.
Thank you!

The astericks is for "-scholarships" or just google "guaranteed scholarships", and near the top of the responses will be a link to the site, which is free and lists scholarships that one is guaranteed of getting if one meets certain criteria.
