I am STILL waiting to hear from ESM and Ob...I want to go to either of those or NEC.

Anyways, how hard is it to get the dean's awards or whatever at Ob? I've gotten a lot of money elsewhere, but I have a feeling it's hard to get dean's awards... right?

Oh, and does ESM give good aid, generally speaking?

I don't know what it is like this year, but the year my daughter was accepted at Oberlin about a third of the incoming class got talent awards, mostly in amounts between $6,000 per year and $12,000 per year, but some higher. Don't know about Eastman.

KeyofH, thanks for the congratulations, but want you to know that the award was for a previous year. I am sorry that I didn't make that clear. Hope the info can still be helpful. Good luck to all. I remember how much it mean to our family to have the financial burden lightened and hard work recognized with these music scholarships.

My last post was about Eastman Merit awards not about Indiana.
Puka Dad - a good friend of ours is waiting to hear about Music merit aid from Indiana and hasn't heard anything. Already got academic merit aid a while back.
In 2007 DS got his merit notification by snail and it was dated March 22, so yours should be coming any minute. His was for voice if that makes a difference.

At audition Eastman admissions said generally they offer $5, 10 or 15k as talent scholarships depending on need and audition performance. All get at least $5k if accepted.

Just a quick note on IU/Jacobs mailings. The postmark date was 4 days later than the date on my son's acceptance letter. The person I talked to at Jacobs admissions said that the mail is slow to get out of the University mail room once it leaves Jacobs.
