Merit based $ for room & board??

I got the Gateway Award at OU for full tuition, but do people get $ for room and board?

OU as in University of Oklahoma?

Does the reward specifically say it is for tuition or is it just a $ amount? Usually schools also have a room and board scholarship that has different criteria (at the school I will be attending, you have to have a 28 on the ACT, but if you take the R&B scholarship, you forfeit the tuition scholarship). You could talk to the financial aid office and ask if there are any additional scholarships.

Gateway Award = Ohio University

oh i see. it's confusing because oklahama & ohio have an OU & OSU.

The Gateway Award Program: Ohio University Admissions

^ which one did you get? it looks like the maximum that any of them pay for is full tuition.

I know National Merit Scholars get offered full everything (and even free laptop, travel, etc.) at some colleges in the south.

Isn't national merit attained my scoring good on the PSAT? I wonder why there isn't a PACT?

Thanks. The problem seems to be that by the time you realize what they are giving you, it's too late play them against the award of others. We didn't apply to a bunch of other schools because he really wanted to go to Ohio university for the Scripps College of Journalism. I'm getting the email that full tuition is all they give but I want to know if that is really true. We is a commended National Merit Scholar (97%) and ACT of 34 (99%)

Wow. "We is a NMS?" Is that like "I are a college graduate." Sorry for not checking my spelling. I am getting the Gateway Excellence Award of full in state tuition - $8907.
