Merit based Scholarships

Hey guys, I need help finding schools where I can receive merit based scholarships and have very little debt coming out of school. My sat is a 1370, and my gpa is a little under 3.7 unweighted. Thanks for all of the help.

How much can you afford to pay? Do you need a full ride? What major? What is your home state?

Look in the Financial Aid & Scholarships forum, there are plenty of threads addressing what you’re looking for.

up to 15,000 per year, I would like up to a full ride, Major is Finance/accounting, Texas.

You’re going to have to go way, way down in competitiveness to find “full ride” merit for your stats.
There’s this option, if you’re suited for it beyond your stats, which are solid for passing the first filter: https://www.uscga.edu/management/

Texas Tech would come in at around 21K/year with automatic merit, if you’re in the top 10% of your class, and they have good business/accounting/finance programs.

It the $15k what your parents can pay? Does it include the federal loan? Would you qualify for any other Financial Aid? The reason I ask is that $15k/year is around the room and board cost at many Universities. Finding a full tuition scholarship with your stats is going to be hard. If the $15k doesn’t include the federal loan and you are willing to take take it, you look at Texas State. Their cost of attendance is $23k and it look like you are eligible for something between 2,500 and 5,500 a year in merit…

This is going to be tricky. Sign up TODAY to take the SAT again. Sit down and do a section test every day in the SAT practice book.

You need to put UT Arlington on your list. With just a few more points on the SAT you would get at least full tuition if you are in the top 20% of your class. Are you?

Check periodically for updates. Also, if any of these schools interest you, be sure to check their sites for details/updates missing from the page above.

1400 SAT M+CR seems to be a threshold for some of the best scholarships. In the recent past, the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) has been one of the highest-ranked, most selective colleges to offer automatic full tuition (/ full ride) scholarships for qualifying stats.

Depending on where you live, you may find the best balance of academic quality and net price at public colleges within commuting distance from home.

Ok, thanks for all of your help guys!
