I have a 3.5 unweighted GPA, 2150 SAT score (superscored) and average extracurriculars. I've also taken about 8 AP classes.

Do you think I could possibly qualify for merit based scholarships at Tulane University? If not, are there any other schools commonly give out scholarships for high sat scores?

Look at the pinned threads at the top of this forum for some merit aid options.

The only way to find out if Tulane will give you one is by applying. But there are automatic ones at limited colleges, see the pinned financial aid threads.

Tulane has gotten tougher with merit in recent years. 10 years ago, someone with a 1450 M+CR typically got about a $20k merit award (niece got that). Now, it seems like the bar has been raised, likely due to more high stats kids attending and some after-affects of Katrina.

If you were given some money, would it be enough? Right now, if you were lucky and got $25k per year, the remaining costs would be about $35k. How much will your family pay each year?

What is your situation?

What is your M+CR?

What is your major?

My M+CR is a 1450, and if I got the cost down to $35k I could probably make it affordable with just a couple local scholarships. I already applied to Tulane early action and I applied as engineering undecided. I’m mostly worried that my GPA isn’t impressive enough to qualify for any money

@jjalaska, take a look at the Tulane thread for SCEA/EA posts; there are many stats posted by students who have been offered merit aid with their early admission acceptances. <a href=“2019 Tulane EA/SCEA Decision Thread - Tulane University - College Confidential Forums”>2019 Tulane EA/SCEA Decision Thread - Tulane University - College Confidential Forums;
