Merit scholarship and CSS/FAFSA

<p>I am trying to decide to or not to file CSS/FAFSA giving my ECF is $48800. Is there any reason I should do it?</p>

<p>My son is a very good student and may (hopefully) qualify merit scholarship. If I don't file CSS/FAFSA, will this hurt his chance of getting merit scholarship?</p>

<p>Some schools require the FA forms for merit awards as well. Your FAFSA and CSS EFC may be very different as well.</p>
