Merit scholarship decisions for RD

I live in San Jose and I just received my President’s Scholarship notification yesterday (3/15). Does everyone receive the same $13,000/year or is it based on achievement?

2060 SAT, 4.0 and top 20% of class.

I believe it is different based on achievement. I received $16,000/year. 32 ACT, 4.0 top 2%

Thanks! (I’m not entirely sure of the class percentage, I just put 20 because that seems to be the bare minimum requirement). Well done with your grades and thanks for the information!

Regarding whomever is interested about the Honors College, I am currently a student in the Honors College at RIT, receiving the Presidential and Honors Scholarships. The Honors letter came after I was notified of receiving the Presidential Scholarship and was a separate package containing information about the Honors Program. RIT no longer offers an Honors scholarship for the class of 2017 onwards. Please let me know if you have any questions.

vera94, can you clarify what you mean about the Honors scholarship no longer being offered? We were told the Honors program offers $1,000 for housing. Is that different from the scholarship, or is that the $$ that is no longer offered?

@w2bhome - sure, I received an email from the honors college last month saying that since the merit amounts for the presidential scholarships have increased, there is no longer an honors scholarship available - only those who entered in the class of 2016 and before will continue to receive the extra thousand dollars per year if they are continued. Hope that helps!

And sorry about the wait, I didn’t subscribe to the thread - my mistake.
