What status change is everyone talking about? Rani, did you get a scholarship?

Got it in the mail today! Now I have to wait for her to get home!!

@Cavmom
Congrats to your D. My D opened hers already. She’s a Presidential finalist.

Congrats to everyone!!

Congrats - 2018dad , and others who are interview finalists : how do you register for the Explore USC days , don’t find any info online…

cardyboy, for some the status of their USC account in the admissions tab changed over the past week and weekend to admission decisions have been made…which ofcourse was temp. as of this morning it has reverted back to old status of the application is complete…S is a presidential scholarship finalist. Goodluck to all.

my son’s acceptance came today but no mention of scholarship interview so I called USC and they said separate letter coming in next couple of days.

We just got the big red folder (inside of yellow envelope) too which is so exciting! Thanks for posting PatrickEvansmom because I thought there would be something in it regarding scholarships so was confused when there was no mention of it. It is a beautiful admissions packet!

On another site it was posted a senior received a packet in NYC>

For those of you who noticed the status change, did something prompt you to check, or did you just happen to do so? My question is essentially-is it possible that your status changed and then changed back without you having any knowledge of it?

It really is pretty
Does anyone know if merit scholarships are included (later) in the financial aid package, or if they’re added after financial aid is calculated…

Never mind just saw the explore USC brochure. Thanks.

Son accepted to Viterbi First-year engineering. No mention of scholarships, but he does have the NMF Presidential coming. Congrats again to all that have heard.

@rshah2014 I just happened to check mine a few days ago, they didn’t inform me or anything. Sooo, it might be possible.

Lilliana, congratulations. Any merit $$ is subtracted from the COA and then your family’s EFC is subtracted. If there is still a balance left, your FA package will cover it with Fed student loans and then grant aid. No one knows the exact formula the FA office uses, but you can try to run your family’s numbers through USC’s net price calculator to get an idea of your EFC.

Thank you, @madbean! I tried the calculator once, and it gave me an EFC of about 10k. Found it kinda high for my income level, but oh well :/

My daughter received the admission packet on Monday has not gotten any scholarship information yet. She is a NMSF. Any ideas if it is only the presidential national merit scholars still to be notified?

^ This is detailed in the thread about NMF Presidential:
