Merit Scholarship Question OOS

I am an OOS applicant and was wondering if I would have a chance at receiving a scholarship.
I am from PA
Unweighted GPA 3.67
Weighted GPA 3.81
ACT Composite 27
Vigorous Coursework including mostly honors classes through high school,AP Macroeconomics and Dual enrollment through the University of Pittsburgh.
I plan on majoring in Computer Science.
If I was not eligible or have a chance for a scholarship how could I better improve my chances?

Your GPA and ACT score are within the mid average range of students accepted to UD. It is my perspective that for merit aid standardized test scores are probably the most significant factor that UD utilizes in determining and awarding merit aid for OOS students. I am not saying that other factors are not considered at all but the standardized test scores seem to be the most important factor. Based upon past practices with your ACT score of 27 I would guess that you “might” receive some merit aid but it probably would not be a large amount. Obviously if you could obtain a higher ACT score (or have higher SAT scores) then your chances of getting higher merit aid would be increased. On the other hand for admission decisions UD has historically placed a higher emphasis on rigor of HS courses and grades so I would suspect you are in much better shape as far as being accepted for admission is concerned (obviously no guarantee). Good luck.

Thanks for responding. Hopefully I can get some money from them.

being OOS it’s a bit tougher to get merit $ My D two years ago had a 30 ACT and a 4.2 weighted GPA (unweighted 3.8) she got $4500 a year. It barely makes a dent but we will gladly take it. Last year my niece had a 31 ACT and a 4.3 weighted gpa and got $7k. Hope this helps. My son is almost identical stats to you and I’m hoping for a little something… it all depends on the application pool I guess.

Last year we got $6500 OOS with a 30 ACT, weighted 95.5 average, 8 APs, lots of EC.

Last year daughter had 1940 on her SAT, weighted GPA 4.1, unweighted 3.85. Lots of Honors and AP classes and tons of extra curricular activities. Nursing Major- received $6,500 OOS
