This forum has been a very useful tool to date so thanks to everyone for being engaged. My son has been admitted to Kelley School of Business and the Honors College as an OOS student but we have yet to receive any information on a merit scholarship. He received his Honors invite 10 days ago and Kelley notice late last week and had a 31 ACT. Can anyone tell me when they and how they received news of a merit scholarship. Thanks.

I received a letter in the mail telling me about my OOS merit scholarship and was invited to fill out additional scholarships with the SSA application. You son can check on his onestart account and see if there is a link to the SSA application.

thanks for that. he has received the SSA application information and submitted that. just wondering about the non SSA merit scholarships.

I would call scholarship office and ask them. My older brother’s letter about his merit scholarship from the University of Maryland got lost in the mail.

My daughter is oos and Kelley direct admit. She has 30 and 4.3 gpa weighted 3.9 unweighted. She received 5000 merit award. Probably not enoughto make IU possible for her. Taking act one more time to see if it helps.

My son Received a letter in the mail within about a week of acceptance notification.

Seems the cutoff this year for the $11,000 OOS scholarship is ACT 32 and4.0+ GPA

Just to confirm, did he apply by November 1?

yes he applied by November 1st and was accepted to IU on Nov 22 then Honors College Nov 25 and Kelley direct admit last Friday Dec 6th. He had a 4.2 GPA weighted and a 31 ACT so will call tomorrow to see if they are offering any merit. Also submitted the SSA application. Hoping for something to make this financially worthwhile over our state school. Although Kelley seems to be a great program.

Don’t know if this helps, but I got a 32 ACT and 4.5 GPA and got the 11,000, so bigbooklover’s theory could definitely be correct.

My D is OOS (MD). 3.7uw/4.4w. 33 ACT. Solid ECs with leadership. 4 years of Honors/AP. Community service, and so on.

Admitted to IU and Honors College. $11,000/year. Submitted SSA package by deadline and fingers crossed for more $ to make attendance affordable. IU definitely one of her top choices!
