Merit Scholarship

I recently received a letter from Fordham asking for my parent's official tax documents for the 2007 year, which are still being worked on by our accountant due to the nature of my parent's business (we received an extension). The letter states that they need to be sent in ASAP in order to finalize the financial aid process. To be honest, I know I won't get any need based aid, but I was hoping that this wouldn't affect my consideration for merit scholarships. Is that the case? I know this question sounds dumb but if I'm not mistaken, some schools want to see your official tax documents just to be considered for merit...

I don’t know specifically about Fordham University’s policies, but some schools prefer to award financial aid before merit scholarships if a desired applicant qualifies for both as merit scholarships are typically quite limited regarding total available funds.
