any suggestions on 0+6 or 2 + 4 Pharma schools that are generous with merit aide?
Thanks!!
My daughter is a Freshman at Drake University with their 2+4 program. She received a good amount of money for
Merit as well as a Drake Grant to go along with it.
There are several and it would depend on stats but rather than focus on the merit amount, more important is the net price per year and in total for all six years.
Instate public pharmacy schools are most likely lower in tuition than OOS.
Some consider only pre-pharmacy year 1 and 2 undergraduate and consider P1 and P2 graduate school. U Buffalo for example.
Some consider prephamacy and P1 and P2 undergraduate and only P3 and P4 graduate, and let you use merit for the first 4 years. Pitt for example.
Some 2+4 programs that give merit are U Toledo, Pitt, Temple (3+4), Duquesne
I think Ohio Northern is 0-6 and gives merit.
Notheastern is 0-6 too I believe but you might need really high stats to get merit there.
@Momlettinggo17 I was about to say that, too! (I have a BA and MA from Drake University and live in West Des Moines. I hope she’s enjoying being a Bulldog!)
@LynchSmith Drake has full ride and full tuition scholarships called “National Alumni Scholarships.” Apps are due December 1!

@MFHP96 She is loving being a Bulldog! She got involved in different things right away, so she never suffered any homesickness. I think it was more of an adjustment for me than her!
@Momlettinggo17 Good to hear! How far from home is she?
Southern Illinois Univ Edwardsville and University of Toledo both have a direct admit, 6-year program and give out lots of merit aid! They are both public and will match their in-state rate in addition to the merit aid (Toledo matches it for anyone who meets a certain GPA and SAT/ACT, I think around 1200; Southern IL Edwardsville gives it to anyone in a state bordering Illinois and they may have even changed that to include all states. I wasn’t following that too closely since I’m from IN anyway).
Thank you all!! Very much appreciated.

Toledo has contingent admission to pharmacy school for high school seniors with certain stats, it is competitive and deadline to apply through common app is TODAY Dec 1.
I applied to four 6 year pharmacy programs last year, and received the following amounts of merit scholarship from each:
USciences - $22,500 a year
Pittsburgh - $15,000 a year
Buffalo - $12,000 a year
Rutgers - $3,500 a year
Ended up committing to Rutgers because it made the most sense for me financially (NJ resident).
Good luck at Rutgers!! He won’t make a decision until the spring when we know all the $$. Thanks!
our son was accepted to Albany College of Pharmacy with 93K total in merit aid!! So excited!
The University of Rhode Island has a 0-6 pharmacy program and the merit scholarships awarded by URI are given for all 6 years, not just the first 2 or 4 years like many other universities. The pharmacy program at URI is very good but since the academics at the rest of URI are less competitive, then it is easier to receive merit scholarships from them and you still are getting a very good education.
