Would a person with a 32C (35R, 31M, 31S, 31E, 10W) and a 3.8 UW GPA (4.6 W) at a super competitive IB magnet school (top 4%) with a ton of ECs (Including state awards) and leadership in a very clear direction have a shot at merit scholarships at:
-Mount Holyoke College
-Bryn Mawr College
-Kenyon College
-Smith College
-Grinnell College
-Occidental College
-Oberlin College
-Macalester College
-Scripps College
Thanks!
Yes - a 32 puts you in the 75th percentile for most of those schools.
Stronger shot at merit at BMC, Mt Holyoke. Iffy merit at Grinnell, Oberlin and Kenyon, especially Grinnell, as a 32 really isn’t bringing much to the table at Grinnell, that’s typical range for an upper middle class kid there. Really depends on the broader qualities an applicant brings.

The NPCs (Net Price Calculator on each school’s website) for some of these schools include an estimated merit award in the results. We’ve used them for Grinnell and Oberlin, and a 32C in combination with good grades was enough for some predicted merit at both.
