So I know UConn states that their priority deadline for merit scholarships is December first. If I were to apply today would I be considered for merit aid? How much should I expect? Out of state, and I have a 1510 SAT, valedictorian, 4.7 weighted GPA, plenty of leadership in ECs.
@going2collegenow Did you ever find an answer to your question? Wondering the same thing …
FWIW, my S19 is at UCONN, from OOS, admitted as an engineering major. His SATs were just under 1400 (so no honors invite), 98-ish WGPA and good rigor with 4/5’s on APs but no valedictorian, 4 year athlete but not recruited. He received $15k merit per year. We did have multiple family members who have attended over many years (but not his parents) - not sure if that mattered - though his friends is also there similar grades, similar merit, without legacy.
One caveat. With the new budget situation you have to expect some cuts to OOS merit. Plus we are generally finding less merit everywhere this year. So, adjust accordingly. Good luck
@BoroDad Thanks for the information, yes we are finding merit to be a bit skimpy this year also, just our luck
