Stevens doesn't release Common Data Set info as best I can tell. What fraction of the students receive merit aid and what is the average amount? S has CR + M >1500, top 22% of class at a US News ranked top 100 suburban HS, though GPA not stellar. Was contacted to change his app to ED, but I think it may be better to compare offers. Anyone with info/experience on this? We won't qualify for much FA.

We were told that ~93% of students receive some sort of FA (need or merit) and that the other 7% is international students.

My son was also contacted to apply EA; it’s probably generated based on SATs like all the other marketing stuff.

My son doesn’t want to do that (although he likes Stevens) because he wants to consider all his offers and merit aid. No one has ever told me how much aid they got (a few friends’ kids applied to Stevens) but we have heard ‘nice amount’ and ‘not very much’ so who knows.

In my experience, one shouldn’t apply to Stevens early if one needs a lot of FA.

Was wondering if susgeek or rualum could provide an update on what your children eventually received from stevens?

susgeek is probably right that you shouldn’t apply early if you want to consider all aid as their early admission is binding.

My son received a very generous offer.

My son entered Stevens in 2006, so I don’t think my information would be very helpful to current students. He applied regular decision.

There is an excellent article on Stevens ROI-

[In ROI for Students, Stevens Institute of Technology Ranks Among Top 25 Schools in Nation | Stevens News](http://www.stevens.edu/news/content/roi-students-stevens-institute-technology-ranks-among-top-25-schools-nation)

“In addition, Stevens ranks eighth in ROI and fourth in ROI for graduates out of 18 metro area schools, and its graduation rate is the highest among the group.” This is from susgeek’s article.

One thing I want to mention is that Stevens seems to have a very supportive learning environment. My son is happy with all of his instructors as they seem to want everyone to really learn what is being taught rather than just weeding out students who are not understanding something.
