Merit Scholarships

Who is all applying to the Ingram or Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship? I'm applying to both.

I considered Ingram, but I felt that I didn’t have enough community service. I’m applying to CV though. Feeling optimistic.

i applied to both

I applied to Ingram! :)

I’m applying to CV. Any idea how competitive it is?

hey guys, so one of my two recommendations hasn’t been submitted yet, but will be soon. will they still consider it or will they just delete my application in total?? im worried, if anyone could reply that would be great thanks

Applying to Cornelius. I am also wondering how competitive it is.

Chances are slim with a applicant pool of equals. Be proud of yourselves for doing the work to apply, for the extra thought put in your applications and references. Hoping this will impact each of your applications favorably regardless.

I just realized that since I applied RD, I would hear about the CV scholarship before I would my acceptance to Vandy. I didn’t screw something up horribly, did I? Are there many other CV applicants who went RD to Vandy?

Hoping results come soon so I can finally make a decision for next year!

^What exactly do you mean if you screwed something up horribly? If you are a CV winner, you are also admitted to the university but won’t get your official acceptance package until they give it out to all the other admitted students.

You didn’t screw up by applying RD and fur CV. Don’t decisions on CV come out soon? I know that they come out before RD decisions do. The wait, the wait!!

you can read the blogs here in March in recent years although the majority of winners didn’t post.
with best wishes for each fine student who threw in their hat, did extra essays, got extra recommendations, and do not forget that Financial Need at Vandy is very competitive and generous with no loans in the packages. For full price private pay students, lack of merit dollars can mean moving on to flagship honors colleges or other offers.

DS found out yesterday he didn’t get CV. He wasn’t too surprised, Burr a bit disappointed. Now waiting for RD to come out.

Read this blog entry from Vandy’s admissions office. They say they’re done notifying all the recipients, sorry if you didn’t get one. I wish you luck with your admissions decision later this month.
I applied for both the Cornelius and the Chancellor’s. I received the Chancellor’s a few weeks ago, but I haven’t heard back from Cornelius, probably because they took me out of the running because I received the other scholarship.
