To those of you who were admitted, were you told if you got merit scholarships in your acceptance letter or another letter that came with the packet?

I got it in my acceptance letter

Yes, Honors College and Merit Aid award in acceptance letter. :)

It is in letter. Did anyone hear about STEM Scholarship?

I would assume STEM Scholarship would be in the letter as well.

Yeah honors and merit

I got the STEM scholarship. It was in the one admission letter I got in the mail.

If you get a STEM scholarship can you qualify for the other merit scholarships such as leadership scholarship or academic excellence?

I couldn’t tell you. The STEM scholarship is worth $10,000 (that’s what I got, not sure if it goes in other amounts), which is higher than the typical $5,000 that they award to most students who get merit packages. I would be surprised if you could get more than $10,000 total on this set of merit packages.

Thanks, I was wondering because the STEM Scholars I felt was different from the other merit scholarships as a separate branch.

I take back what I said earlier. There was no mention of merit in my letter, but I ended up getting a $4000 director’s scholarship.

And how did you hear about that scholarship?

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry! I thought I was posting in UNH. So sorry @OliviaTulie!!!

Can anyone OOS who got Merit Aid, please share your academic stats: GPA M/V SATs and class rank. Thanks.

My son (OOS - but legacy) did not get any merit aid, which surprised me - and I was wondering if it was a mistake. The financial aid e-mail only had the various federal loans and Parent Plus loans listed.

He got $5000 merit aid from his state university, $7500 from Delaware, and an even more generous amount from SUNY BING. I’d be happy if he went to any of them. Still waiting on the various private schools.

He had 2030/2400 on SATs (highest combined) and 1360/1600 M/V highest combined.

3.5 GPA unweighted (honors/CP track). School doesn’t rank, but about top 20-25%

Thanks @regiolanthe. My S has a 4.0 weighted, probably a 3.7-3.75 unweighted and is in the top 5% but had SAT M/V of 1250. We were hoping for some merit too.

I spoke to admissions today, and they informed me that merit award recipients were notified with their acceptance packet. Bummer…my d received merit from every college she was accepted to except UConn. Could be a game changer!

Presidential scholarship decisions will be released probably at the end of March/Early april. Only for in state students

I received the Presidential Scholarship, but was branched to Stamford.
It’s 10K a year as long as I maintained above a 2.1 GPA, this is strangely low for that caliber.
