Merit Scholarships

What are some colleges that are very generous with merit scholarships. I have a 3.85 UW and a 1460 SAT (taking it again to score at least 1500) and am a National Merit Semifinalist (We’ll see about National merit Scholar).

I won’t be receiving any financial aid, but are there any decent colleges that would be giving substantial merit scholarships to a student with my stats?

If you get NM scholar, the benequisto scholarship at Florida public colleges is a full ride, I believe.

USC gives a guaranteed half to all NMFs.

You are on the late side to be looking for merit. Many schools had deadlines in Dec or Jan.

@Chrane03 search these forums for NMF scholarship threads. There is a ton of information on the dozens of schools that offer full cost of attendance (CoA), full tuition, and other substantial merit awards for National Merit Finalists. My son is seriously considering University of Florida for a full ride, and there are lots of other schools that offer full rides like Alabama, UT-Dallas, and more.

Merit aid is one kind of financial aid.

I’m a junior so I’m looking for next year. My raw score on the PSAT is a 226/228 which is how I know I’m a national merit semifinalist.

University of New Mexico gives full rides (tuition, fees, housing, meals.( to National Merit Finalists…

I read another post that the 50% is only tuition and the acceptance %age for NMFs was ~50%.

National merit scholars receive half tuition scholarships at USC, and then are eligible for additional awards.

@menloparkmom perhaps you can elaborate on this one.

Here is the Florida Benacquisto info: https://www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org/PDF/factsheets/FIS.pdf

Also U of Kentucky, U of Oklahoma, U of Texas-Dallas have very good money for NMF

The University of Alabama has good NMSF/NMF scholarships! Definitely consider applying there.
