<p>I believe that all the merit non-scholar awards are given to semifinalists. There are scholarships (that qualify you for Scholars) that you can apply for once you are already there, but those (in my mind) are harder to get. Those used to be for half tuition, but they may have changed.</p>

<p>You can apply for merit scholarships after your first year though.</p>
