Did anyone get merit scholarships yet?
And is it possible to recieve more than one?

I’m not sure if it’s possible to receive more than one…but i got a letter on Wednesday saying i got the presidential scholarship for $46,000 ($11,500/yr)

You can receive a merit scholarship and addditonal need-based aid… if you are applying for it

congrats on the presidential scholarship… what were your stats?
im still waiting

Thanks, my Sats were 2060: 730 m 680 cr 650 w and I got a 31 on the act. My gpa is 3.76/4.00 and I’m 15/445. I’ve played tennis for 4 years and I’m a captain, I’m on the math team and also a captain this year, and I participate in deca and have won some awards through that. I think being a girl interested in engineering probably helped too. Good luck to you hopefully you’ll hear soon!

I got my letter today! It’s a University Award scholarship totaling $80,000 over the four years of college. I’m pretty pleased.

Phantastic, phanatic!
Congrats. That is a great award.
Share your stats for the others (if you have not already)

Thank you, #theorymom! By the way, the pun made me smile. :)

For stats, I’m a female with a 3.98 unweighted GPA. I’ve taken the most rigorous courseload available at my school (including honors and AP sciences). We do not rank. I submitted a 33 ACT (34E, 30M, 36R, 30S, 8W) and a 2260 SAT (780CR, 680M, 800W). ECs include four years of professional choir, three years of Quiz Bowl (with two years at the varsity level and a year as co-captain), three years of debate, and a hospital internship.

Best of luck to those still waiting to hear, and congratulations to everyone else who has received a scholarship!

your award is well-deserved.

My S is in Men’s Glee there at WPI and in some other vocal things. He has his most fun with the singing. I hope you will contiue with choir at WPI. (Unless you go to Rose) I understand the women’s choir is quite good

Thank you! :)

I’ve heard many good things about the WPI choral programs as well. In fact, I mentioned this as one of my reasons for applying to WPI on my application. While I love both Rose and WPI, the choir program at WPI is definitely stronger than the one at Rose (though RHIT is trying to improve their music scene). We’ll see how it all works out, though.

Presidential Scholarship letter today ^^ $82,000 over the four years.
Strange thing is, I haven’t received a proper admissions notification yet. Oh well.

Does anyone know if WPI merit awards (not factoring in need-based awards) can stack up?

@Muscovy,

I am not sure. S1 got a notification of his Cesar Chavez Scholarship with a total amount. He is also guaranteed the National Hispanic Recognition Scholarship based on his PSAT scores. I think that the total amount in the notification letter included a combination of both scholarships.
