Just curious about people who recieved some $$. My daughter has a 3.72 unweighted GPA, all honors and GT classes, and 2 Ap classes, and a 1910 on the SAT's (including writing). She did not receive any money. All the other out of state schools have been throwing money at us. Just curious what the stats are of all the kids listed that got some money. There seems to be alot! Love to hear back.

Also, are you sure your daughter applied by the priority deadline? One had to apply by December 1 to be eligible for merit aid or the honors program.

thats not true at all

im the daughter...we sent it in really early...like late october
but i didnt apply to the honors program...did you have to do that to be considered?

no (10 char)

http://admissions.udel.edu/finance/scholandfinaid.shtml#merit
note the section that states that all applicants whose applications are in by December 1 will be automatically considered for merit aid.

No son specifically said he did not want honors, and he got 6,000 /year

natalieW i didnt send my app in until january 13th and i got $8,000 in merit aid

Generally it is a good idea to meet the colleges' deadlines -- of course --it is up to them to bend the rules a bit if there is an applicant they want. afro_ninj4 are you heading to U of D?

possibly. im waiting to see what other grants and loans i get. Its mainly about the money for me and penn state already gave me a full ride so they have to come pretty close to that for me to really consider them. As of now it'll still cost me 17k to go here b/c im OOS

Our daughter finally got her packet - $12K merit

GPA - 3.7

Lots of Community Service (habitat for humanity (twice), tsunami relief, repainted a local thai school, taught english in mahasarakham province (i live in thailand btw), organized fundraisers and used the money to buy instruments for a local orphanage)

Yeah, I got 12K too.
It's a nice package. But still, I'm worried about all those external costs. Including the fact its about 30,000 for out-of-state. so really, that covers a small amount. maybe half, if i do work study.
