I have a 3.8, a 30 ACT, a 780 biol and 730 lit subject tests, I am captain of my school swim team and on a year round team, I have an internship at an academic success skills coaching/publishing company called lifebound, im board member of NHS, and I'm in a youth group and go on worktrips every summer, and ill take 8 AP classes total.

I can pay for college, but i cant go out of state unless I get a lot of merit. Can anyone tell me how much they believe these schools would give?

It’s my understanding that Connecticut College gives no merit aid. (We crossed it off my daughter’s list for that reason.) I don’t know about the other schools on your list.

Good luck.

How much merit do u need. How much will your family pay.

If u need a good amount of merit, find schools where an act 30 is in the top 10% of the school.

My parents don’t want to pay more than 20-30 thousand a year. So I just wondered if anyone with similar stats got money to these particular schools

Since those schools don’t have assured merit, there’s no guarantee what you’ll get no matter what someone else got. They may have been selected to receive some merit money because they are from an unusual state or they’re a URM.

Re: Creighton…an ACT 30 is at the 25% level for the school. That is not usually high enough for merit or for a good amount of merit…especially to get the cost down to $20k-30k.

BTW…a range of $20k - $30k is quite a large range…that’s a difference of about $800 a month…quite a difference. A budget of $20k per year is quite different than one of $30k per year. Try to find out from your parents how much they really will spend each year.

Since you said that you can’t go out of state without merit, it sounds like your parents are willing to spend up to the cost of going to your instate flagship. What is your flagship?

It sounds to me that you really want to go OOS if possible. While it’s fine to apply to your list of schools to find out what will happen, but if you really want to go OOS, then also apply to some schools that will definitely give you ASSURED merit for stats. There are schools that will give you ASSURED scholarships for your stats.
