Merrill Lynch Global/Private Wealth Management Internship

Hi everyone,

So, I was looking around the forum and found that several people have done ML PWM internships to advance their career path. I am in my junior year and heading to my senior soon after spring 2011. I am a student at UIUC with a 2.94 gpa with two (logistics and marketing)internships under my belt.

I am looking for an internship for summer 2011. I tried networking with alumni and tried emailing alot of boutiques i could find. No luck, but I will keep on trying.

However, I am interested in this ML PWM internship that I heard people mentioning around this forum. I've been trying to find this position on their website or BOA's website. I didn't find anything.

Did you contact the local merrill lynch PWM office to get the internship or was it through your campus career center?

You need to bring your GPA up. Most financial services firms will not look at you if you are below a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Don’t do a wealth management internship if you’re a junior. You need to find more important ones that will actually lead to a full-time offer.

I agree with demoz. ML PWM in your junior summer would at best set you up for an operations FT role.

I’m actually planing for take part in this position in the spring semester. I heard you would have to contact the higher level executives at ML to get the job. Hopefully, I can find a IB internship before the summer starts. Networking and making calls to alumni like crazy.
