Hey guys, my school has this program that helps us find unpaid internships and such and my school helped me find one at Merrill Lynch, with someone with a lot of experience who is a Wealth Management Advisor, CFP, CRPC, and CSNA. I made an appointment over the phone for an interview. I was wondering what sort of things i should be prepared to know/answer, how i should be dressed, etc. This is my first interview with a major company -.-

Are you a kid?

Yes. I am going to be a Senior next year.

If this is a for an internship. Just be enthusiastic and yourself and convey the message that you’re always on time and ready to work. Merrill Lynch advisors are only permitted to solicit for unpaid interns during the academic year. Meaning, they have already had a ton of people walk through the doors and never show up after the first day of work. Since it is advisory, they will make you go through a comprehensive u-4 sec standard background check. 10 year work history, criminal, credit etc etc.

These PWM internships are usually pretty easy to get. Just don’t come off as a complete idiot and you should be fine. Be prepared to do some really tedious work though (cold calling, filing, and other secretarial crap)
