Hey, I too am in the same situation as you are. Well, I do not know the answer, since I myself am trying to find out my chances for getting into Yale.
So, how did you acquire such a low GPA?

Pls do look at my Thread if you do not mine.

Freaking out and worrying too much… Pls do chance me for Yale 2014 RD!! this is my thread

First off, your unweighted GPA is extremely low for Harvard and Yale, almost to the point where I would not deem it worth it to submit an application. To illustrate my point, a few years back, a Yale rep came to my school and told us, “If you do not have at least a 3.7 UW GPA, do not bother applying.” Certainly, you have great, even superb test scores and a top 10 percent ranking, which might give you somewhat of an outside shot at the University of Pennsylvania. Granted, if your school sends upwards of 40-50 kids to Ivies and equivalents each year, your GPA might not hurt you as much as I implied above. As things stand right now:
Harvard College: High Reach
Yale University: High Reach
University of Pennsylvania: Mid-High Reach
Johns Hopkins University: Low/Mid reach
McGill University: Low Reach
Cornell University: Low-Mid Reach
Vanderbilt University: Low Reach
Rutgers University (already got in): no need to respond
SUNY Binghamton: Match
University of Rochester: Match
The College of New Jersey (BS/MD 7 year program): in for the college, match for program

Best of luck to you!

well, I would disagree with IvanKaramozov it is not true that if you have such a low GPA it is not worthy to send in your application. BTW, I once heard that a boy who had a relatively low GPA and C’s in his transcript got into Harvard, because he explained his situation that at the time, he was going some really tough times, i.e. he being ill, close family member died etc. Ivy’s do understand these special circumstances. Also, GPA is only one part of the Application Duh, many perfect GPA and SAT score students have been rejected flat out by HYPS. IvanKaramozov I wonder where you applied or got in ?
