This is a pure guess based on an hour I spent in the breakfast nook assembling lamps and stuff five years ago and looking at boxes stacked there to be carried down to the car, but I would estimate the breakfast nook is about six feet wide at the end in front of the window at the end of the hall.

I think a futon would fit in there, if my daughter's roommate and the boys in the other adjoining room agree.

Thank you all for all the information.

The 26th can't come fast enough for my daughter. (somehow, I think she might have mixed feelings, when the 26th acually arrives)

i lived in 258N my freshman year and it was great. we had two chairs from a lounge and an extra school-issue bed in the mini-lounge area (and some shopping carts...one of the great things about swarthmore is that no one is going to hassle you about things like that -- you could bring a full-size refrigerator if you really wanted to.) 258 is a little on the small side, but a good room. 260 only has one window and a box fan is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

About the beds: Can you raise/lower them?

Bed risers from the bookstore:

So the beds themselves, are not adjustable.

nope, and as someone who didnt have risers i say get them

Thank you! I just ordered them.
