Do you think it’s appropriate to contact arts teachers (i.e. Band teachers, Ceramics teachers) like how applicants message coaches at the schools they’re applying to? I seldom participate in sports but I value my visual and musical art abilities. Should I contact the teachers?
DS asked this question in his interviews, and got a range of answers. Some AOs encouraged it and gave him the contact info for the teacher, others simply said to submit a portfolio. Why don’t you ask your interviewer? They would have more insight into how it’s handled at their school, as well as the best person to direct your questions.
