Messed up Junior Year.

Alright, well my primary goal is to get into at least a top 5 UC school (Berkeley, LA, SD, Davis, or SB). However, my UC GPA has made me think that this might be a reach. In sophomore year, I only received one B the entire year, which still made me competitive at all UC's. However, junior year killed me. I got 2 B's each semester, in the same classes (AP Biology and Spanish 4 Honors), and now my UC GPA is barely above a 4.0. I've given hope at LA and CAl, but are SD and Davis reaches now as well? My SAT is a 2080, and I'm still taking Sat 2's.

I'm thinking of community colleges so I can transfer to UCLA after two years as well (local cc has around a 80% acceptance rate to UCLA), but I would feel so embarrassed walking around telling everyone that I go to a community college. However, I would save money and be able to major in Bus/Econ in UCLA.

Any advice? I'm so stuck, I have no idea what to do.

Any advice??

So what is your unweighted GPA? Why do you keep referring to your GPA as “**UC **GPA”, aren’t you in high school?

Unweighted 10-11 will be around a 3.82
Weighted Cap will be around a 4.05
and Weighted Uncapped will be around a 4.2

I might take a Stats course at a CC this summer, which might improve my GPA if I get an A in it.

BeanTownGirl, the UC GPA is what UCs use to calculate GPA.

UCD is a match. SD is a possibility. Naviance, if your school has it, will be able to tell you better than us. Maybe UCB or UCLA are possibilities as well.

No shame in a CC. Do what’s best for you. And you’ll save lots of money! However, you don’t need to worry about that now. See where you’re accepted then decide.

Just to give you perspective, my daughter was accepted to UCD and UCSC with similar stats to you but rejected at UCSD, UCSB, and UCI. Some of her friends had the reverse acceptances/rejections (once again with similar stats).
