Hello intellectuals,
I need advice. I messed up on my Columbia app - I didn’t notice that under the “Activities” section in the Question category there are like 100 choices - I think my computer messed up and I accidentally missed a whole chunk, skipping to the end of the list. I remember thinking “sports, basketball, none of these interest me” and picking the only thing academic on the list which just happened to be 1 - so I ended up just putting down 1 out of 3 possible activities as things I’m interested about Columbia. I obviously explained multiple activities that I’m interested in great detail within my essay, but I’m scared that they will look at my activities section and say “This girl doesn’t like our school we shouldn’t waste a spot on this careless girl” ;( ;( ;( . I know that expressing your interests is super important on your app, and I felt like the activities section was the place to show it? I’m hoping they will get the sense that something went wrong under the Activities section, looking at that I didn’t list any of the activities I listed on my essay and I also noted i’m not interested in the LGBT Activism when I myself am bisexual. Should I call Columbia? Or am I over-reacting like all my friends are telling me.
