Okay, so I applied to a summer program last year which required a letter of recommendation, and I asked one of my teachers to write on for me. I gave him the brochure for the program so that he could better focus his letter. Come fall application time, I asked him to do my college application recommendations, and naturally, he agreed. However, I didn't find out until today that he never changed the wording on the recommendation, and that in the letter, there are a few places that refer to "your summer program" blah blah blah. I sent this to all the schools I applied to, which included a few very selective places...So guys, do you think this would at all affect anything? Or am I just being paranoid? Should I notify them to clarify that the letter was for a summer program? AHHHHHH!

...bump? i just want some reassurance, that's all. :P

Hmm...this is a tough question. I don't think that the letters will hurt you in any way, but I don't think that they would help either. Would you be able to get the teacher to change the letter and send out the new version immediately? If that won't work, you might want to contact the colleges (or at least your top choices) and explain what happened. I think that something needs to be done, though. Try asking your GC for help as well, they'll probably know how to handle this situation. Don't stress too much though, it'll all work out in the end. ^_^ Good luck!

thanks! :]
