Messed up senior schedule... : (

Hello! My school messed up my schedule for my senior year...
I am really upset because they left out THREE courses that I asked for (Spanish, World Issues, and AP English Literature).

And they only put: Math, Band, English, Biology, AP Psychology, Gym, Art...
I am sooo worried that they won't be able to change my schedule and I have to stick to this VERY easy course load....

What should I do? If they CAN'T change it, do I have to let the colleges know that I didn't have a choice?

Thanks!

What you can do? Stop worrying about a problem until you really have that problem. Find out if you can change your schedule before worrying about the ramifications of not getting the classes you wanted. More than likely, you can get at least some of the classes you wanted.

Agree w/NSM. It might be easily remedied, so no use freaking out right now.

Also, occurs to me thay maybe gym and art are there because you haven't met those graduation requirements. In which case, thank the scheduler!

Our local high school has a "fix all the schedule mistakes" on a particular day three weeks before classes start. Yours probably does too.

I agree w/ Youdon'tsay - I highly doubt your counselor would put you into gym/art unless you needed to be there. My school has a policy where you have to take 2 gym classes and 1 art class to graduate, is it possible you haven't met a similar requirement? If you haven't, I don't know that there's much you can do about your schedule, unless you drop band.

You will probably get 2 out of the 3 things fixed.

Prioritize what is important and what you are willing to forego.

Scheduling is a hard problem that the school's excel sheet will not
get right the first time. Listen to NSM and Chill.
