<p>Slightly off-topic here from our usual kid/school related threads, but I wondered if anyone else had the chance to get to the Metropolitan Opera HD Live broadcast (of the season-opening Gala) last night at your local theater? For me, that "local" theater that provides these broadcasts is an hour away, but oh so worth it! For anyone not aware, this is the third season the Met has been doing this in selected theaters around the country, there will be 11 live broadcasts this year, and they are incredible. You feel like you are right there, close up. THere is always an opera "star" who acts as host/hostess (Susan Graham and Debra Voight last night), and manages to have brief interviews with the stars between acts and looks at the backstage action.
